Role Description The Rebar Detailer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. In this role, the Rebar Detailer prepares detailed rebar shop drawings and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) from structural and architectural plans, ensuring accuracy and constructibility for site installation. The position involves interpreting design specifications, coordinating with engineers and project teams, and updating drawings to reflect design changes or site conditions.





Day-to-day tasks include creating and revising CAD-based rebar layouts, checking quantities for estimation, and verifying compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Detailer also supports project documentation, assists in resolving drawing-related queries from site teams, and contributes to efficient material usage and workflow.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in rebar detailing and preparation of rebar shop drawings using CAD or detailing software (e.g., AutoCAD, RebarCAD, or equivalent).
- Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings, including reinforcement details, sections, and schedules.
- Experience in preparing and validating Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) and performing accurate quantity takeoffs for rebar.
- Knowledge of international building codes and standards relevant to reinforced concrete design and detailing.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to identify and resolve detailing discrepancies.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for coordinating with engineers, contractors, and project teams.
- Proficiency in basic office and documentation tools for managing drawing records and project information.
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; prior experience as a Rebar Detailer or Structural Draftsperson is highly beneficial.
- Willingness to work in office in Chennai and support international projects with schedule and quality commitments.
