Quality Inspection Engineer / Executive CMM & Metrology

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform incoming, in-process and final inspection of components using CMM and precision measuring instruments.
- Operate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) for dimensional inspection and verification of components against drawings and specifications.
- Conduct dimensional and geometric inspection using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Dial Gauge, Profile Projector, Bevel Protractor, Gauges and other measuring instruments.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, tolerances and inspection standards.
- Prepare inspection reports, dimensional reports and maintain inspection records.
- Identify dimensional deviations, process abnormalities and non-conformities and coordinate with Production, Quality and Supplier Quality teams for corrective action.
- Perform first-piece, in-process and final inspection and provide inspection clearance as per defined quality standards.




- Support FAI / PPAP / APQP activities through dimensional inspection and measurement reports.
- Ensure measuring instruments are properly maintained, calibrated and used as per defined procedures.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for recurring dimensional issues.
- Maintain calibration and traceability records for inspection equipment.
- Support supplier/component development by carrying out dimensional validation and inspection of new and modified components.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in CMM operation and dimensional inspection.
- Positive knowledge of GD&T;, engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances and geometric tolerances.
- Hands-on expertise with precision measuring instruments and gauges.
- Understanding of automotive components, machining, fabrication, casting, forging and sheet-metal components would be preferred.
- Knowledge of CMM programming/software and interpretation of CMM reports.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of MS Excel and quality documentation.
