Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Head – Raw Material to lead the procurement of agricultural raw materials required for our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in agricultural sourcing, vendor development, farmer engagement, quality assessment, and procurement planning.

The candidate must have extensive exposure to agriculture-based industries and a deep understanding of the South Canara agricultural ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

∙Develop and execute procurement strategies for agricultural raw materials.

∙Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, aggregators, vendors, FPOs,

cooperatives, and collection partners.

∙Identify new sourcing regions to ensure uninterrupted raw material availability.

∙Plan seasonal procurement based on production forecasts and demand.

∙Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, contracts, and supply agreements.

∙Monitor raw material quality and ensure compliance with company standards.

∙Conduct supplier performance evaluations and implement vendor development initiatives.

∙Work closely with Production, Quality, Logistics, and Finance teams for smooth procurement operations.

∙Track market trends, crop conditions, pricing, and competitor activities.

∙Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and statutory requirements.

∙Optimize procurement costs while maintaining quality and supply reliability.





∙Prepare procurement MIS reports, forecasts, and management dashboards.

∙Lead and mentor the procurement team to achieve departmental objectives.

Desired Candidate Profile

∙Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement of agricultural raw materials.

∙Experience in agriculture-based manufacturing, food processing, agri-input,

plantation, spice, horticulture, or similar industries.

∙Strong network with farmers, traders, aggregators, and suppliers across South Canara and nearby regions.

∙Valuable understanding of crop cycles, harvesting seasons, and agricultural supply chains.

∙Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.

∙Ability to manage procurement budgets and cost optimization initiatives.

∙Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

∙Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP-based procurement systems will be an added advantage.

∙Willingness to travel extensively across sourcing locations.
