The Centre for 3D Cancer Omics at IIT Madras is a Focused Research Organization dedicated to advancing multidisciplinary digital tissue mapping and high-resolution histopathology in oncology. Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cancer Biologist to lead a multidisciplinary team working on histological and molecular profiling of solid tumours. You will integrate high-resolution 3D histology, liquid biopsy and multiomics, and direct wet-lab and computational workflows from tissue processing to multi-omic data integration.

Key Responsibilities

- Direct and mentor a cross-functional team in 3D digital histopathology, spatial transcriptomics and multiomics with computational analysis
- Architect experimental pipelines for 3D tissue mapping and liquid biopsy assays, integrating molecular data with histopathological findings
- Manage facility operations,



oversee high-throughput data generation and drive methodological innovation
- Handle resource allocation and draft research proposals
- Collaborate across clinical, wet-lab and computational teams to translate research into precision oncology outcomes

Required Qualifications

- Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Molecular Genetics, Genomics or a related discipline from a reputed institute
- 7+ years of post-doctoral or industry experience in solid tumor oncology (minimum 5 years with a proven track record of team leadership)
- Expertise in digital histopathology and multiomics
- Experience establishing and optimizing digital histopathology pipelines, NGS workflows and molecular probing methods beyond standard commercial kits
- Extensive experience with liquid biopsy protocols, spatial transcriptomics platforms and histopathology environments
- Familiarity with bioinformatics and open-source tools for cancer image analysis and multiomics data analysis

Preferred

- Experience establishing or managing a molecular oncology or histopathology core facility
- Deep familiarity with solid tumor pathology, NGS, biomarker analysis and validation, and spatial biology platforms
