ROLE: Performance Engineer – Oracle / PostgreSQL

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Performance Tuning Engineer with strong expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL databases . The candidate will be responsible for database performance optimization, query tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, high availability, and production support across large-scale enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze and optimize SQL queries, PL/SQL and PostgreSQL queries to improve application performance.
- Perform database performance tuning using AWR and other performance-monitoring tools .
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks related to queries, indexes, memory, CPU, sessions and database resources.
- Design and implement indexing, partitioning and materialized-view strategies .
- Monitor PostgreSQL database performance and health in production environments.
- Configure and tune PostgreSQL parameters including memory, autovacuum, WAL and connection pooling .
- Analyze database logs and monitoring data to identify performance issues.
- Develop proactive monitoring and alerting for blocking sessions, replication failures, transaction issues and data mismatches .
- Support database upgrades, migrations and production maintenance activities.




- Work on Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration , including query conversion and performance optimization.
- Support high-availability database environments and troubleshoot replication/failover issues.
- Perform RCA for critical database performance and production incidents.
- Collaborate with Application, Development, Infrastructure and DBA teams.
- Provide 24/7 production support and participate in critical maintenance windows.
- Develop stored procedures, functions, triggers and complex SQL where required.
- Contribute to database automation and scripting initiatives.

Required Skills

Mandatory:

- 6–9 years of database/SQL experience
