Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable MCR (Master Control Room) Playout Operator to manage day-to-day linear and digital channel playout operations. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, and executing daily transmission schedules, maintaining seamless visual/audio signal quality, and ensuring error-free broadcast delivery across linear satellite and OTT platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Playout Schedule Management: Load, review, and execute daily playout automation logs/playlists (as run schedules, commercial traffic, graphics, and promo overlays).

Live Operations & Switching: Monitor live-to-air feeds, execute studio cut-ins, live news/sports feeds, break inserts, and handle primary/backup redundancy switching during live events.

Quality Assurance (QC): Perform real-time audio and video signal monitoring (Loudness, Aspect Ratio, Video levels, subtitling, and SCTE-35 ad-insertion triggers).

Incident Escalation & Logging: Identify, troubleshoot, and log on-air transmission glitches or technical failures in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Ingest & Quality Check: QC ingested media files (codecs, resolutions,



file formats, and aspect ratios) before scheduling them for playout.

Coordination: Work closely with Broadcast Engineering, Commercial/Traffic, and Production teams to ensure smooth channel operations.

Skills & Qualifications

Basic: Street Smartness

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Media Production, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or Information Technology.

Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with playout automation software (e.g., Pebble Beach, Cinegy, Imagine Communications, Evertz, Crispin, or cloud playout systems like Amagi/Harmonic).

Broadcast Protocols: Solid understanding of SDI, IP broadcast workflows (SMPTE ST 2110/2022-6), video codecs (H.264, HEVC, MPEG-2), SRT, and NDI streams.

Problem-Solving: Quick decision-making and calm problem-solving ability under live broadcast pressure.

Work Schedule Availability: Willingness to work in 24/7 rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
