Position Title

Medical Coding Team Manager

Experience

- 6–12 years of overall medical coding experience
- 1–5 years in a Team Lead / Managerial role with hands-on coding responsibility.

Key Responsibilities Technical & Operational

- Perform hands-on coding for:
- E/M services (Office, Hospital, Consults – MDM & Time-based)
- Surgical procedures (global periods, bundling, modifiers)
- Cardiovascular coding (diagnostic & interventional)
- Review and approve complex and high-risk charts
- Conduct internal coding audits and root-cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with:
- CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS
- CMS guidelines, LCD/NCD policies
- NCCI edits and payer-specific rules
- Act as the escalation point for coding-related denials, audits, and recoupments.

People & Process Management

- Lead, mentor, and upskill a team of coders
- Set and monitor quality, productivity,



and accuracy benchmarks
- Provide structured feedback and corrective action plans
- Develop and maintain Coding SOPs, audit tools, and training material
- Collaborate closely with Billing, AR, Denial, and Compliance teams.

Certifications

- ✅ CPC – Mandatory
- ⭐ CPMA / CRC / CCS – Strongly Preferred.
