Mechanical Design Engineer – R&D; (Product Development)

About Us

PH1 Industries Limited is a Hyderabad-based engineering company. We supply Alternative Fuel & Raw Material (AFR) co-processing systems, waste processing and RDF production lines, bulk material handling and emission control solutions to the cement industry in India and abroad. Our in-house R&D; team is building a new range of indigenously designed equipment. We are looking for engineers who want to build these products from concept to commissioning.

The Role

You will be part of a small, hands-on R&D; team. You will design and develop current machines for waste screening and separation, thermal processing, and bulk material conveying. You will own your designs through concept, detailed engineering, prototyping, testing and handover to production.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop new equipment from concept to final design: layouts, 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, and Bills of Materials
- Carry out engineering calculations, including power, drive selection, structural strength, wear, throughput and material flow
- Perform FEA and design validation for critical components and structures
- Study benchmark and imported equipment, then improve designs for cost, performance and local manufacturability
- Select standard bought-out items such as gearboxes, motors, bearings, hydraulics, and wear materials
- Work with fabrication shops and vendors during prototype build. Support trials, testing, and design iterations
- Prepare technical documents:



design reports, GA drawings, O&M; inputs, and test records
- Coordinate with the proposals, projects and site teams on customer requirements and field feedback
- Maintain design standards, drawing control and revision records in line with the QMS

Requirements

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. M.Tech in Machine Design is a plus
- 3–7 years of experience designing heavy equipment or machinery: material handling equipment, conveyors, crushers, shredders, screens, dryers, process plant equipment or similar
- Strong skills in 3D CAD (SolidWorks / Autodesk Inventor / Creo) and AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of FEA tools (ANSYS / SolidWorks Simulation)
- Sound understanding of machine design, fabrication processes, GD&T;, and material selection
- Hands-on approach and comfort working on the shop floor during prototype builds and trials
- Clear communication and documentation skills

Good to Have

- Exposure to the cement, recycling, waste processing or mining industries
- Experience developing a product from scratch
- Knowledge of IS / DIN / CEMA standards for conveyors and structures
