We are seeking a detail-oriented Material Engineer with 5 - 8 years of experience in Material Master Data Management, enterprise data governance, MRO spare parts cataloguing, and Plant Maintenance (PM) master data. The role focuses on Noun-Modifier structuring, multi-level enrichment, Equipment BOM compilation, engineering drawing analysis (P&ID;, SLD, PEFS), Plant Maintenance tag attributes, hands-on SAP execution, and regular client reporting on material registration and SLA/KPI delivery.
Key Responsibilities
A. Data Governance & Material Master Lifecycle
- Governance Framework: Assist the data governance team in executing data governance policies, standards, frameworks, and enterprise data quality programs.
- Full Master Data Lifecycle: Manage end-to-end material master actions in SAP/ERP: Creation, Extension, Change requests, Deletion, Un-deletion, and Global Request Templates (GRT).
- Taxonomy & Classification: Structure descriptions using Noun, Modifier, Attributes, and UOM as per client dictionary and taxonomy; assign standardized schema codes (UNSPSC, MESC).
- Material Group Auditing: Detect incorrect/misclassified Material Groups and reassign items to correct standard commodity groups.
- Stock & MRO Maintenance: Create and maintain records for Stock, Non-Stock, bulk consumables, and operational MRO spares, populating HSN codes, material types, company codes, and purchasing groups.
B. Data Cleansing, Technical Value Standardization & Quality Control
- Multi-Level Enrichment: Execute Level 1, 2, and 3 enrichment using vendor catalogues, GA/sectional drawings, operation manuals, data sheets, and verified online sources.
- Attribute Consistency: Perform technical value standardization across all catalogue attribute values (both legacy and current inputs) to maintain structured consistency.
- Quality Control & Duplication:
Use QC tools to identify missing mandatory attributes, validate completeness/accuracy, and eliminate duplicate material codes.
- Vendor & Part Normalization: Standardize and normalize OEM/OPM names, model numbers, serial numbers, and ordering codes to eliminate purchasing errors.
C. Equipment Master, Maintenance Data & Asset Hierarchy
- Drawing & Tag Extraction: Review engineering drawingsincluding P&ID;, PEFS, PFA, UEFS, UFS, SLD, General Arrangement (GA), and Cross-Sectional Drawingsto extract equipment tag specifications.
- Plant Maintenance (PM) Attributes: Assign critical PM master fields to equipment tags: Functional Location, Equipment Category, Object Type, Inventory Number, Maintenance Plant, ABC Indicator, Technical Identifier, Installation Position, Planner Group, Main Work Center, and Catalog Profile.
- Equipment BOM Creation: Build Equipment Bill of Materials (BOM) from Vendor Recommended Spare Parts Lists (RSPL) and sectional drawings, directly linking material numbers to equipment master tags.
- SPIR Compilation: Extract spares from sectional drawings and BOMs to create and review Spare Parts Interchangeability Records (SPIR).
- Maintenance Planning Support: Assist in preparing task lists and maintenance plans linked to equipment tags.
D. Hands-on SAP Execution (T-Codes)
- Material Master Operations: MM01 (Create), MM02 (Change), MM03 (Display), MM17 / MASS (Mass Maintenance).
- Inventory & Stock Analysis: Review real-time plant and storage location stock using MMBE (Stock Overview), MB52 (Warehouse Stocks), and MB51 (Material Documents).
- BOM & Plant Maintenance: View and maintain equipment BOMs and linkages using CS01, CS02, CS03, and support master data integration across Plant Maintenance (PM) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P).
E. Reporting, KPIs & Client Deliverables
- KPI & SLA Formulation: Formulate, monitor, and report monthly operational KPI and SLA performance metrics for master data accuracy and turnaround times.
- Client Status Reporting: Prepare and submit weekly and monthly project material registration reports directly to client stakeholders.
3. Key Requirements & Qualifications
