Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Manager / Lead – Purchase & Procurement to manage end-to-end procurement activities for Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Rooftop and Ground-Mounted Solar Projects. The candidate will be responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier development, price negotiation, material planning, inventory coordination and timely procurement of materials as per project requirements.

The role requires robust knowledge of the solar industry, procurement processes, suppliers, DISCOM-related requirements and project material management.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage end-to-end procurement activities for solar projects from material requirement to delivery at project/site.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, contractors and service providers.
- Identify, evaluate and finalize suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, delivery schedule and commercial terms.
- Source and procure solar project materials for Rooftop, Commercial, Industrial and Ground-Mounted Solar Projects.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, credit periods, delivery schedules, warranties and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Prepare and review RFQs, comparative statements, purchase orders, work orders and procurement-related documents.
- Coordinate with Project, Engineering, Store, Accounts, Operations and Management teams to understand material requirements and ensure timely procurement.




- Monitor material availability, stock levels, lead times and project-wise procurement requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials at project sites as per approved specifications and project schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance, material quality, delivery commitments and resolve supply-related issues.
- Develop alternative suppliers and maintain a reliable vendor network to minimize procurement risks.
- Monitor market prices, material trends and availability to support cost-effective procurement decisions.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approved budgets and internal procedures.
- Coordinate with Accounts for vendor bills, payments, advances, purchase reconciliation and outstanding matters.
- Coordinate with Stores for material receipt, stock records, GRN and inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain complete records of quotations, purchase orders, invoices, delivery challans, receipts and supplier documents.
- Coordinate with government departments, DISCOMs and relevant legal/statutory agencies whenever required for procurement or project-related statutory requirements.
- Support management in developing procurement strategies, cost-saving initiatives and supplier development programs.





Required Knowledge & Skills

- Hands-on knowledge of Solar PV systems and solar project materials.
- Good understanding of procurement requirements for Rooftop, Industrial, Commercial and Ground-Mounted Solar Projects.
- Hands-on experience in supplier/vendor development and management.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
- Good knowledge of inventory and material management.
- Working knowledge of DISCOM processes and requirements related to solar projects.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP / Inventory / Purchase Management Software.
- Working knowledge of E-Way Bill and related documentation.
- Strong understanding of purchase documentation, GST-related purchase processes and vendor billing coordination.
- Strong analytical, communication and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and procurement requirements simultaneously.
- Qualification

Qualification & Experience Qualification: Diploma / BE / B. Tech / MBA / PG in relevant field preferred.

Experience: 5–7 years of relevant experience in Purchase / Procurement, preferably in the Solar / Renewable Energy / Electrical / EPC industry.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should have strong experience in solar project procurement, vendor development, price negotiation, material planning and project-site coordination. The candidate should be capable of independently handling procurement activities and leading the purchase function while achieving cost, quality and delivery targets.
