Manager – Indirect Tax (West Region)

Function: Tax / Finance

Reporting To: Indirect Tax Manager

Location: Thane, India

Role Purpose

Responsible for managing and supporting GST compliance for the West Region, including GST returns, reconciliations, input tax credit, GST queries and related process requirements. The role will work closely with Finance and business teams to ensure timely and accurate GST compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and support GST compliance and return filing for the West Region, including review of GST data and statutory timelines.
- Perform GSTR-2B, purchase and sales reconciliations and identify and resolve GST mismatches.
- Monitor input tax credit eligibility and coordinate with vendors/business teams for resolution of discrepancies.
- Provide day-to-day GST advisory and tax inputs to Finance, Procurement, Sales, Logistics and other business teams.
- Support GST requirements relating to e-invoicing and e-way bills, including resolution of GST-related issues.
- Coordinate responses to GST notices, audits and departmental queries, including compilation of supporting documents.
- Monitor GST law changes and communicate relevant requirements to stakeholders.
- Support GST system/process implementation, automation and improvement initiatives.
- Prepare GST-related MIS, trackers and management reports.




- Coordinate with external tax consultants and ensure timely escalation of significant issues to the Indirect Tax Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

- MBA Finance, M. Com or equivalent qualification.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in GST/Indirect Tax, preferably in an MNC or manufacturing environment.
- Positive knowledge of GST law, returns, GSTR-2B, ITC and reconciliations.
- Working knowledge of SAP/ERP, GST portals and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of e-invoicing and e-way bill requirements.
