Role Description The Legal Director at Taxcart is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing all legal matters and ensuring the company’s operations comply with relevant laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions. This role includes providing strategic legal counsel to leadership, reviewing and negotiating contracts with customers, partners, and vendors, and managing legal aspects of commercial transactions.

The Legal

Director will develop and maintain policies for legal compliance, oversee risk management, and coordinate with external counsel when needed.



Day-to-day tasks also involve guiding legal strategy for product development, supporting M&A; activities, addressing regulatory and tax-related legal issues, and collaborating closely with finance, product, and operations teams.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Law, with experience providing legal guidance in a technology or SaaS setting
- Expertise in Legal Compliance and handling complex Legal Issues across multiple jurisdictions
- Proficiency in Contract Management, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements
- Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A;), including due diligence and transaction structuring
- Licensed to practice law (JD or equivalent), with relevant bar admission
- Experience in tax, fintech, or global regulatory frameworks is highly beneficial
- Strong analytical, risk assessment, and decision-making skills
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders and collaborate in remote, cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing legal functions or teams
