The Role

Reporting to the Principal/Head of Boarding, Lady Wardens will be responsible for the welfare, safety, and holistic development of students residing in the boarding houses. They will act as guardians, role models, and mentors, ensuring the boarding environment is nurturing, disciplined, and aligned with the ethos of Bedford School..

Key Responsibilities

Student Care and Welfare

- Provide round-the-clock care and supervision for boarding students.
- Ensure students’ emotional, social, and physical wellbeing.
- Act as a mentor, counsellor, and point of support for students.
- Monitor academic progress and liaise with teachers/parents where necessary.

Boarding House Management

- Oversee daily routines, including wake-up, meals, study hours, and lights-out.
- Maintain discipline, order, and positive behaviour in the boarding house.
- Organise recreational, cultural, and enrichment activities for boarders.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and security of the boarding facilities.

Health, Safety, and Safeguarding

- Administer first aid and coordinate with medical staff in case of illness or emergencies.
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards in all boarding activities.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety, security, and emergency procedures.

Communication and Collaboration

- Build strong,



trusting relationships with students and parents.
- Maintain records of student welfare, attendance, and incidents.
- Collaborate with academic, pastoral, and administrative staff to support holistic student development.

Person Specification

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Education, Psychology, or Social Work preferred).
- Certification in first aid and child safeguarding desirable.

Experience

- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children/teenagers in boarding schools, hostels, or similar environments.
- Experience in pastoral care, student welfare, or residential life management.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
