Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Japanese Technical Translator / Coordinator with 510 years of professional experience to facilitate effective communication between our Japan-based stakeholders and India-based software development teams.

The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in Japanese and English, along with a good understanding of IT/software development concepts and technical terminology.

The role involves translating and interpreting technical and business discussions, software requirements, system specifications, project documentation, emails, and meetings while ensuring that both the technical meaning and business context are accurately communicated.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide Japanese English translation and interpretation for technical and business communication.
- Provide real-time interpretation during requirement discussions, technical meetings, design discussions, project calls, issue discussions, and status meetings.
- Translate software requirements, technical specifications, API documentation, system documents, user stories, tickets, emails, presentations, and project documentation.
- Act as the communication bridge between Japan-based stakeholders and India-based Development, QA, DevOps, and Project Management teams.
- Understand technical discussions and accurately communicate requirements, issues, solutions, decisions, and action items.
- Support requirement clarification and ensure that Japanese stakeholder expectations are clearly understood by technical teams.
- Participate in discussions throughout the SDLC requirements, design, development, testing, UAT, release, and production support.
- Prepare and translate Minutes of Meeting (MoM), action items, status reports, issue reports, and project updates.
- Coordinate directly with Japanese stakeholders for technical clarifications, issues, follow-ups, and project activities.
- Maintain consistency of technical terminology across meetings and documentation.
- Support effective cross-cultural communication between Japanese and Indian teams.




- Handle confidential business and technical information professionally.

Required Skills

- 510 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong proficiency in Japanese and English speaking, reading, and writing.
- JLPT N2 or above preferred; JLPT N1 is an added advantage.
- Strong Japanese-to-English and English-to-Japanese translation and interpretation skills.
- Experience handling technical/IT translation and interpretation.
- Good understanding of software development terminology and processes.
- Solid stakeholder communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to independently handle technical meetings with Japanese stakeholders.
- Strong documentation and follow-up skills.

- Git / source-code management concepts

Hands-on programming experience is not mandatory. However, the candidate should be comfortable understanding technical discussions and translating them accurately.

Preferred Experience

- Experience as a Japanese Technical Translator, Technical Interpreter, Japanese IT Translator, Bridge Engineer, or Japanese Technical Coordinator.
- Prior experience in an IT/software development organization.
- Experience working directly with Japanese clients, stakeholders, or engineering teams.
- Experience translating software requirements, system specifications, technical documents, tickets, and project documentation.
- Experience supporting Development, QA, DevOps, and Production Support teams.
- Strong understanding of Japanese business culture and professional communication practices.

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- Japanese language certification JLPT N2/N1 preferred.
- Relevant technical translation/interpretation experience in the IT/software industry.
