Role: - INFRASTRUCTURE SECURITY + FIREWALL ENGINEER

Location: - Bangalore

POSITION SUMMARY The Infrastructure Security + Firewall Engineer (L2) is responsible for administering, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco Meraki security infrastructure. This role focuses on Meraki MX Security Appliances, VPN administration, SD-WAN security, firewall policy management, IDS/IPS monitoring, content filtering, threat protection, and ensuring secure connectivity across enterprise branch environments. The engineer works closely with Network Operations, Security Operations, Infrastructure, and Application teams to maintain secure and reliable network services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Firewall & Security Policy Management

- Administer and support Cisco Meraki MX Security Appliances across enterprise environments.
- Configure and manage Layer 3 and Layer 7 firewall policies and traffic controls.
- Support network segmentation, VLAN security, and access control requirements.
- Configure and maintain content filtering, geo-blocking, and web security policies.

VPN & SD-WAN Operations

- Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot Site-to-Site VPN and Client VPN connectivity.
- Support Meraki SD-WAN deployments and secure branch connectivity solutions.

Security Monitoring & Incident Response

- Monitor IDS/IPS events, security alerts, and threat protection mechanisms.
- Investigate and troubleshoot security incidents related to network access and firewall policies.




- Collaborate with Security Operations teams during incident investigations and remediation activities.
- Analyze firewall logs, event logs, and packet captures for troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- Provide Level-2 support for security-related incidents and escalations.

Maintenance, Documentation & Governance

- Perform firmware upgrades, security updates, and change management activities.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and problem management processes.
- Maintain security documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- 810 years of hands-on experience in Network Security, Firewall Administration, or Meraki Security Operations.
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise firewall and VPN environments.
- Hands-on expertise managing Cisco Meraki MX security deployments and configurations.
- Solid troubleshooting skills across firewall policies, VPN, routing, and network security.
- Experience supporting multi-site enterprise environments with complex security requirements.
- Exposure to security monitoring platforms and incident response processes is essential.
- Ready to work on 3 shift rotations support, on basis request support for on-call and scheduled support maintenance activities.
