About the Chance

Proficient Peoplecraft is hiring an experienced HR Head for a reputed and established client in the Road Logistics & Transportation industry.

This is a leadership role for an HR professional who has strong hands-on experience in the logistics industry, particularly road transportation/fleet-based logistics, and has independently managed the complete HR function.

The selected candidate will take ownership of the HR function and will be responsible for managing the entire employee lifecycle across corporate, operational and field-level teams.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End HR Leadership

- Take complete ownership of the organization's HR function.
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business and operational requirements.
- Manage HR operations across corporate, branch, warehouse and field/driver workforce.
- Partner closely with senior management and business heads on people-related matters.

Talent Acquisition & Manpower Planning

- Drive end-to-end recruitment across all levels and functions.
- Develop manpower plans based on business and operational requirements.
- Manage recruitment of drivers, fleet/transportation staff, warehouse employees, operations teams and corporate employees.
- Build effective sourcing channels for high-volume and specialized logistics hiring.

HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle

- Manage the complete employee lifecycle from joining to exit.
- Oversee onboarding, attendance, leave, transfers, confirmations, promotions and separation.
- Establish and improve HR policies, processes and SOPs.
- Ensure smooth HR operations across multiple locations.

Payroll & Statutory Compliance

- Oversee payroll inputs and payroll coordination.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, PF, ESIC, Professional Tax and other statutory requirements.




- Handle contract labour and workforce-related compliance where applicable.
- Ensure HR documentation and statutory records are maintained accurately.

Employee Relations

- Manage employee grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Develop strong employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Handle employee relations across operational and field teams.
- Work closely with business leaders to resolve people-related issues.

Performance Management

- Drive performance appraisal and performance management processes.
- Establish appropriate KPIs and performance frameworks.
- Support managers in improving employee productivity and performance.

HR MIS & Analytics

- Develop and monitor HR dashboards and MIS.
- Track headcount, attrition, hiring, manpower cost, absenteeism, attendance and other HR metrics.
- Present HR reports and insights to senior management.

Training & Development

- Identify training requirements across different employee groups.
- Develop training initiatives for operational employees and managers.
- Support driver training, safety awareness and behavioural development programs.

Mandatory Candidate Requirements

We are looking for a strong HR leader from the Logistics Industry.

Must-Have:

✅5*- 8 years of overall HR experience*

✅ Mandatory logistics industry experience

✅ Strong experience specifically in Road Logistics / Road Transportation / Fleet Operations

✅ Experience handling end-to-end HR functions

✅ Experience managing both corporate and operational/field workforce

✅ Strong understanding of manpower-intensive businesses

✅ Experience in HR operations, recruitment, employee relations and compliance





✅ Ability to independently lead and manage the complete HR function

✅ Strong stakeholder and people-management skills

Preferred Background

Candidates currently working or having worked with road transportation, fleet management, logistics, 3PL, transport companies or supply-chain organizations will be strongly preferred.

Candidates without relevant Logistics / Road Transportation experience will not be considered.

Compensation

CTC: Up to ₹18 LPA

Compensation will be considered based on the candidate's experience, current CTC and overall suitability for the role.

Location

Navi Mumbai The candidate should be comfortable working from the location and managing HR responsibilities across the organization's operational workforce.
