Your current role

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Head of Digital Technology (Head of Engineering) will serve as the executive technology leader responsible for defining the digital technology strategy, platform architecture, and engineering capability. Working in close partnership with the Head of Digital Product, you will translate ambitious product roadmaps into resilient, secure, and scalable solutions while building an elite in-house engineering team to reduce agency reliance.

Key responsibilities include

- Strategy & Architecture: Defining and executing the digital technology roadmap, API-led integration strategy, and composable commerce architecture across B2B, B2C, CRM, and eCommerce platforms.
- Team Building & Insourcing: Building, scaling, and leading a global in-house engineering organization (software engineering, QA, DevOps, release management, and platform support) while establishing a modern engineering culture.
- Platform & Operations Ownership: Accountable for platform availability, scalability, technical debt reduction, and modernizing customer-facing digital ecosystems.
- Security & Compliance: Embedding security-by-design, SOX controls, privacy regulations, and audit compliance into all digital platforms alongside Enterprise Security.
- Vendor & Commercial Management: Managing strategic software vendors,



technology partners, contract negotiations, and platform TCO optimization.

What you'll need to succeed

- Industry & Domain Focus: Mandatory experience in companies selling physical products across both B2C AND B2B eCommerce / omnichannel environments.
- Overall Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise technology, systems integration, and technology services, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior IT leadership or Director-level position.
- Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture, API-led integration, composable commerce, Customer Data Platforms (CDP), CRM ecosystems, and enterprise architecture. (Experience with Magento / Adobe Commerce ecosystems is highly advantageous).
- Insourcing Track Record: Proven success building and scaling global engineering teams and successfully transitioning from agency-dependent models to sustainable in-house delivery capabilities.
- Governance & Security: Strong grasp of enterprise architecture, SOX controls, audit compliance, cybersecurity, and risk management.
- Education & Leadership: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering (an MBA or executive qualification is highly advantageous) backed by executive presence and C-suite stakeholder management skills.
