Company Description PYAAS is a DPIIT-recognized, FSSAI-licensed dairy startup that builds transparent, traceable milk supply chains in India. Each PYAAS milk pack carries a QR code that reveals detailed batch information, including farm identities, farmer names, milk quality parameters, and timelines from milking to chilling. The company sources milk from family farms in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, onboarding each farm only after thorough on-site verification and testing, and ensures farmers receive fair prices and direct access to city buyers.

PYAAS currently serves founding families in Lucknow with single-farm and family-farms milk, offers small-batch Bilona cow ghee nationwide, and operates as Parag’s digital storefront for select localities. All services run through the PYAAS app and its Digital Agent Network, connecting dairy brands, local milk providers, and end customers through a unified digital platform.

Role Description The Director of Software Engineering is a full-time, hybrid role based in Saket, with flexibility for some work from home. This role leads the technical vision and execution of PYAAS’s digital platforms, including mobile apps, backend services, and tools used by farmers, agents, and customers. The Director will oversee multiple engineering teams, set engineering standards, drive architectural decisions, and ensure scalable, secure, and reliable distributed systems that support traceability and daily delivery operations.





Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with product and operations teams, prioritizing and managing projects, reviewing designs and code, mentoring engineers and managers, and optimizing development processes and release cycles. The role also involves building a high-performance engineering culture, managing vendor and technology partnerships, and aligning technology investments with business goals in a fast-growing startup environment.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Software Development, with hands-on experience building and shipping production-grade applications.

- Expertise in Software Design, including system architecture, API design, and scalable, maintainable code structures.

- Deep understanding of Distributed Systems, including microservices, cloud infrastructure, performance, reliability, and security.

- Demonstrated Team Leadership experience, including mentoring engineers, managing managers, and fostering inclusive, collaborative teams.

- Proven Project Management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver complex initiatives on time and within scope.

- Experience leading engineering in a product-focused or startup setting, ideally in logistics, agri-tech, supply chain, or consumer tech.

- Proficiency with modern engineering tools and practices (CI/CD, automated testing, observability, version control, agile methodologies).

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
