Role Description The Development Specialist is a full time remote role focused on supporting and enhancing Taxcart’s global tax engine and related integrations. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining software components, APIs, and tools that power tax automation across multiple platforms.
The role involves analyzing technical and business requirements, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with product, sales, and support teams to implement effective solutions for customers.
The Development
Specialist will also participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure performance, security,
and scalability. This position requires proactive communication in a distributed environment and a strong interest in global tax technology and digital commerce.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to interpret business requirements, debug complex issues, and optimize system performance.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and support customers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in software development and programming, preferably with experience in APIs, SaaS platforms, or integrations.
- Sales awareness or experience working with sales teams to translate technical capabilities into customer value.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with cloud-based architectures, version control (e.g., Git), and agile development practices.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with tax, fintech, or e-commerce platforms is a plus.
