Role
Design and build the database for a system that manages information across multiple ISO standards. You will receive the business requirements and work with us to turn them into a reliable, secure, and maintainable database.
Responsibilities
- Review requirements and identify the data, relationships, and workflows the database must support.
- Design tables, keys, relationships, indexes, and data constraints.
- Create database scripts and migrations, and document the schema.
- Build queries, views, stored procedures, or functions where appropriate.
- Plan how the database will support users, auditors, audits, evidence, findings, corrective actions, and revision history.
- Recommend how application roles and permissions should be represented in the database.
- Support backup, recovery, performance, and data-integrity planning.
- Work with us to clarify requirements and review the design before implementation.
Qualifications
- 3 to 6 years of database development experience.
- Strong experience with at least one relational database, such as PostgreSQL,
MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Good understanding of relational data modeling, normalization, indexing, transactions, and access control.
- Ability to write clear SQL and maintain database documentation.
- Experience working from business requirements and explaining technical decisions clearly.
Preferred
- Experience with audit, compliance, quality-management, or document-management systems.
- Familiarity with database security, backups, and recovery.
- Experience supporting a web application team or handing database designs over to application developers.
Key scope note
This role covers the database design and implementation. A database developer typically does not build the user interface or the complete login screens and application workflows. Ask candidates to design the database so a future application can implement separate user and auditor access.
