Position Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and commercially driven Commercial Head to manage and drive the financial and commercial performance of our business operations in Ethiopia.

The ideal candidate must be a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with strong business acumen and hands-on exposure to commercial finance, business operations, financial planning, profitability management, cost optimization and strategic decision-making.

This role requires a CA with a Business Head mindset—someone who can go beyond finance and actively contribute to overall business performance and growth.

Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial & Business Management

- Drive the overall commercial and financial performance of the business.
- Work closely with senior management on business strategy, planning and execution.
- Monitor business performance, revenue, profitability, margins and operational costs.
- Identify opportunities to improve business efficiency and profitability.
- Support management in evaluating new business opportunities and commercial decisions.
- Coordinate with different functions to ensure achievement of business objectives.

Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
- Review financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze revenue, margins, costs and profitability.
- Prepare financial and commercial MIS for management.
- Identify key financial risks, variances and opportunities.
- Provide actionable financial insights to senior management.





Cost & Profitability Management
- Drive cost-control and cost-saving initiatives across the business.
- Analyze operational and commercial costs and identify optimization opportunities.
- Monitor product/business profitability and margins.
- Identify financial leakages and implement appropriate controls.
- Ensure effective utilization of company resources.

Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Monitor and manage cash flow and working capital requirements.
- Review receivables, payables, inventory and fund utilization.
- Improve working-capital efficiency and cash conversion.
- Coordinate with finance and operational teams for effective fund planning.

Banking & Commercial Relationships
- Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions and key external stakeholders.
- Support banking requirements, financial facilities and commercial negotiations.
- Coordinate with customers, vendors and business partners on key commercial matters.

Business Controls & Risk Management
- Establish and strengthen commercial and financial controls.
- Identify financial, operational and commercial risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure appropriate approval processes and commercial discipline across business operations.
- Support compliance with applicable financial and business requirements.

Management Support
- Act as a key business and finance partner to the Director/Senior Management.




- Prepare business reviews, financial summaries, presentations and decision-support reports.
- Provide recommendations on profitability, investments, cost optimization and business expansion.
- Drive key management initiatives and ensure timely follow-up and execution.

Mandatory Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong experience in Commercial Finance / Business Finance / Financial Planning / Business Operations
- Strong understanding of P&L;, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, working capital and profitability
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Ability to understand the business beyond accounting and finance
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills
- Smart, proactive, energetic and result-oriented personality
- Solid leadership and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to work directly with senior management
- Must be willing to relocate to Ethiopia
