Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

- Financial Operations: Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash receipts, and general ledger.
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead the closing process to ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to senior management.
- Compliance & Tax: Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal accounting regulations and tax laws; coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and tax filings.
- Internal Controls: Establish, implement, and maintain internal accounting controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations during annual financial audits.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor,



and evaluate junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accuracy.

Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory accounting role.
- Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation is a strong plus.
- Technical Skills: * Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, formulas).
- Strong working knowledge of major accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Sage).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, solid problem-solving skills, high ethical standards, and the ability to explain financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
