JMD Engineerings is hiring a Business Development Associate to grow its rooftop solar sales across Assam.

ABOUT JMD ENGINEERINGS

JMD Engineerings is a solar EPC company based in Assam, founded in 2024. We are MNRE-registered and APDCL-empanelled, and have completed 350 solar installations, including 300 homes under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Our work spans residential rooftop, commercial and industrial (C&I;), institutional and government projects, along with off-grid, storage, solar water pumping, street lighting, solar dryers and O&M.; We also help customers access finance through third-party partners when bank loans are a hurdle.

ROLE SUMMARY The Business Development Associate turns enquiries and field leads into signed solar orders. You will meet homeowners and businesses, understand their electricity use, explain the right solar solution and subsidy, and follow each lead through to advance payment. This is an entry-level sales role with transparent targets and a defined path to grow into a Business Development Executive.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead generation

- Connect leads over call with calling targets on a daily basis.
- Book Appointments and visit residences to give consultation and solar as a solution.

Customer engagement and sales

- Meet prospective customers, understand their needs and review past electricity bills to estimate the right system size.
- Share quotations and proposals prepared with the technical team,



handle objections and negotiate within approved pricing.
- Guide customers to finance options through our partners where needed.
- Close orders and collect the advance payment.

Coordination and documentation

- Collect customer documents and support subsidy and APDCL application paperwork.
- Coordinate site surveys with the technical team and hand over closed orders to the installation team.
- Stay in touch with customers after installation to secure referrals and reviews.

TARGETS AND GROWTH PLAN

Performance is measured on closures and inputs.

Consistent performers will be considered for promotion to Sr. Business Development Associate.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have

- Graduate in any discipline (BBA, BCom, BA, BSc, BE/BTech or diploma in electrical engineering).
- 1 to 3 years of experience in field sales, business development or customer-facing work.
- Fluent spoken Assamese and good working Hindi and English.
- Comfortable with daily field visits within Guwahati and nearby areas.
- Own two-wheeler and a valid driving licence.
- Basic smartphone and computer skills (WhatsApp, Google Sheets or Excel, email).
- Target-driven, persistent and able to handle rejection.
- Own Laptop
