Hi, this is Garvit Goel.

I want to start a specialty chemicals manufacturing business. I want to sell globally, and manufacture these chemicals out of a 1000 sq ft lab in Bangalore. These would be speciality chemicals, the kind that sells for >$1000 per kilo or a few grams.

What do I bring to the table?

I can take care of the entire RnD and manufacturing process of the chemicals end-to-end.

What do I need from you?

You must take care of securing distribution. You must bring Solid Experience in the Chemicals Industry on the sales and business side.

Note

I believe I bring a great technical background relevant for this business and a proven business acumen, and hence I do expect my business partner to bring similar value to the table. It would be important that you have solid connections in the chemicals business and can help us hit the ground running. It would be great if you can discuss this on our first call.





Is this a full-time role?

I neither have full-time expectation from you, neither I am offering it. We should be clear about splitting the work between us, and then it is each person’s responsibility to get things done at their end.

Investment Required

If we are making a chemical that is not a commodity and not everyone can make it, it is likely going to require some equipment in the chemistry lab. Often this equipment can be a bit expensive. Overall I feel we might need $50K - 100K in investment. We will need to raise this from friends and angels.

I want to be upfront about one thing - my own personal investor network is a bit engaged in Comet Aerospace, and I have limited freedom to pitch a recent idea to my investor network right now. If you feel this is a bit unfair, you are right! We can discuss this.

Steps towards first revenue

Identification of the first set of chemicals we would want to sell. This is both an engineering question and a business one. We will need to work together.
