Role Description The Assistant Manager – Structural Steel Design will support the structural engineering team in designing and detailing steel structures for high-end industrial buildings and related projects. This full time, on-site role in Mumbai involves preparing and reviewing design calculations, connection designs, and fabrication drawings, as well as coordinating with architects, senior engineers, and project managers to ensure compliance with codes, safety standards, and client requirements. The role includes checking shop drawings, resolving design-related queries from site and fabrication teams, and contributing to value engineering initiatives to optimize time and cost.

Manager will assist in project planning for the design scope, maintain documentation and design records,



and help implement quality assurance processes across ongoing projects.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in structural analysis and steel design, including familiarity with relevant design codes and standards.
- Proficiency in structural design and detailing software (e.g., STAAD, Tekla, ETABS, SAP2000, AutoCAD or similar tools).
- Experience reading and preparing structural drawings, fabrication drawings, and connection details.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, site staff, and external stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of industrial building systems, load paths, constructability, and practical design considerations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for reports, design notes, and technical discussions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; a master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an advantage.
- Relevant professional experience in structural steel design, preferably in industrial or commercial projects.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
