Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

- Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly corrugation production as per customer requirements and production schedules.
- Ensure achievement of production targets in terms of quantity, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Coordinate with PPC, Sales, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch teams for smooth production flow.
- Monitor machine loading and optimize production capacity.

2. Corrugator Operations

- Manage complete corrugator operations including paper loading, pre-conditioning, single facer, glue preparation, double backer, slitting, cutting, and stacking. Familiar with the flute types N, E,F,B & Microfiber.
- Ensure correct machine settings for flute, paper GSM, board specifications, and customer requirements.
- Monitor line speed, glue parameters, temperature, moisture, and other critical In process parameters.
- Ensure proper changeover planning and input connectivity to minimize machine downtime and material wastage.

3. Productivity & Cost Control

- Monitor OEE, machine utilization, production efficiency, and manpower productivity.
- Control paper and process wastage and implement measures for continuous reduction.
- Analyze production losses and take corrective and preventive actions.
- Improve line speed and output without compromising board quality.
- Control overtime, consumables, utilities, and other production costs.

4. Quality Control

- Ensure production of corrugated boards according to approved specifications and quality standards / SOPs.
- Monitor parameters such as GSM, moisture, ply bonding, flute height, board thickness, ECT/BCT-related requirements, warp, and dimensional accuracy.
- Coordinate with the Quality team for process and product quality issues.
- Identify root causes of defects and implement corrective actions.




- Ensure proper segregation and handling of non-conforming material.

5. Manpower Management

- Manage and allocate operators, helpers, and other production personnel effectively.
- Prepare shift-wise manpower deployment.
- Train and develop operators on machine operation, process parameters, quality requirements, and safety.
- Monitor employee discipline, attendance, productivity, and performance.
- Build a multi-skilled production team.

6. Maintenance Coordination

- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance of corrugation equipment.
- Minimize unplanned machine downtime.
- Ensure timely reporting of machine abnormalities and follow-up until resolution.
- Participate in machine improvement and modification projects.

7. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure strict adherence to plant safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Conduct regular safety checks and toolbox meetings.
- Ensure safe operation of boilers, steam systems, machinery, electrical systems, and material-handling equipment in coordination with concerned departments.
- Promote 5S and good housekeeping practices across the production area.

8. MIS & Reporting

- Prepare and review daily production reports.

- Track key KPIs including

- Production quantity

- OEE

- Machine utilization

- Production efficiency

- Paper/process wastage

- Downtime

- Rejection

- Changeover time

- Manpower productivity




- Conduct daily/weekly production review meetings with the production crew and submit reports to management.

Qualification

- Any Graduate / Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- Additional qualifications in Packaging Technology will be an advantage.

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of corrugation process and machine operation.
- Valuable understanding of kraft paper, GSM, moisture, flute profiles, bonding, and board specifications.
- Knowledge of steam, boiler, starch adhesive/glue preparation, and process parameters.
- Knowledge of production planning and capacity utilization.
- Familiarity with MS Office /ERP/ MIS systems and production reporting.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and root-cause analysis.
