Hiring: Application Support Engineer – Healthcare IT

Location: STAR Hospitals, Nanakramguda, Hyderabad

Experience: 2–4 Years

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / IT / Systems Engineering or related field

Shift: 24/7 Rotational Shifts

Work Mode: In office

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, deploy, and support enterprise healthcare applications.
- Provide L2 application support, incident management, troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Monitor application and production infrastructure performance and optimize system environments.
- Manage application patches, security updates, service releases, and version controls.
- Prepare and maintain configuration documents, SOPs, runbooks, and troubleshooting knowledge bases.
- Coordinate with HIS vendors for defect resolution, enhancements, and system performance tuning.
- Manage role-based access controls (RBAC) and user access in line with healthcare security and compliance requirements.
- Support database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Perform root-cause analysis and escalate complex technical issues to senior engineering teams.
- Participate in functional testing, regression testing, staging validation, and production releases.
- Support application integrations, data migration, system connectivity, and healthcare data exchange.
- Prepare application stability reports, SLA/KPI reports, and operational performance metrics.

Technical Skills Required

- Application Middleware: Apache, Apache Tomcat, WildFly/JBoss, or equivalent.
- Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Operating Systems: Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server.
- Virtualization:



VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or KVM.
- Monitoring & Logging: ELK, Splunk, Datadog, New Relic, or similar tools.
- Cloud: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Containers: Docker and basic Kubernetes knowledge.
- Understanding of healthcare applications, clinical systems, health-data exchange standards, and HIPAA/security compliance.
- Scripting/automation knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in application support, production support, or service desk/L2 support.
- Good understanding of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and ITIL service management practices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a critical healthcare environment.

Preferred Certifications

- CompTIA A+ / Network+ / Security+
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner / Solutions Architect Associate
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
- ITIL v4 Foundation
- Relevant application/platform certifications

Operational Requirements

- Willingness to work in 24/7 rotational shifts.
- On-site/facility-based role.
- Willingness to provide occasional on-call support during critical incidents, deployments, and maintenance activities.
- Preferred health care industry & Immediate Joiners.
