COMOHOM is looking for a hands-on and experienced CDP – Asian / Wok / Dim Sum to join our 110-cover premium pure-vegetarian social dinner house in Surat.We are looking for a strong Pan-Asian kitchen professional with expertise in Wok cooking, Thai and Chinese sauces, noodles, rice, curries and preferably Dim Sum, who can independently manage the Asian/Wok section during high-volume à-la-carte service.

This is a hands-on culinary role requiring strong station management, consistency, speed and the ability to maintain food quality and presentation standards.

Responsibilities:

- Independently manage the Asian/Wok station during service.
- Execute high-volume à-la-carte Pan-Asian dishes with consistency and speed.
- Demonstrate strong Wok heat management and cooking techniques.
- Prepare and execute Thai and Chinese sauces as per standard recipes.
- Handle preparation and cooking of noodles, rice and Asian curries.
- Execute Dim Sum preparations; experience preferred.
- Maintain food quality, taste, consistency, plating and portion standards.
- Plan and maintain daily mise-en-place for the assigned section.
- Ensure smooth coordination with other kitchen stations during service.
- Follow recipes, SOPs, hygiene and food-safety standards.
- Monitor wastage, portion control and proper ingredient utilisation.




- Guide and support Commis and junior kitchen team members.
- Assist the Sous Chef and Executive Chef with menu trials and recipe standardisation.

Requirements:

- 7–10 years of culinary experience.
- Strong background in a Pan-Asian restaurant.
- Proven hands-on experience in Asian/Wok cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of Wok heat and cooking techniques.
- Good knowledge of Thai and Chinese sauces.
- Strong experience with noodles, rice and Asian curries.
- Dim Sum experience preferred.
- Strong à-la-carte and high-volume restaurant experience.
- Good understanding of food quality, presentation, portion control and hygiene.
- Ability to independently manage the assigned station during busy service.
- Strong kitchen discipline and SOP orientation.
- Candidates from premium Pan-Asian, standalone or modern restaurant concepts preferred.

What We Are NOT Looking For

This is not a basic Commis-level or preparation-only position.

We need a hands-on CDP who can independently manage the Asian/Wok section, handle high-volume service, maintain consistency and support junior team members.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will undergo a culinary practical assessment, including Wok cooking, sauce preparation, recipe understanding, station management and food presentation.
