Job Description – Waiter / Captain | Restaurant

Position: Waiter / Captain – F&B; Service

Department: Food & Beverage

Location: Restaurant Outlet

Experience: 0–5 years in restaurant/hospitality industry

Key Responsibilities:

Welcome and greet guests warmly, ensuring a positive dining experience.

Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them to the kitchen/bar.

Serve food and beverages as per restaurant service standards.

Explain menu items, ingredients, and recommendations to guests.

Ensure proper table setup, cleanliness, and timely table turnover.

Handle guest queries, requests, and complaints professionally.

Coordinate with the kitchen, bar, and other departments for smooth service.

Ensure accurate billing and support payment procedures.

Maintain hygiene, grooming, and service standards at all times.

Follow SOPs related to food safety, guest service, and restaurant operations.

Upsell food and beverage items wherever appropriate.

Maintain awareness of daily specials, promotions, and menu changes.

Additional Responsibilities – Captain





Supervise and guide Waiters/Stewards during the shift.

Allocate tables and ensure smooth floor operations.

Monitor service quality and guest satisfaction.

Coordinate with the Restaurant Manager/RGM regarding operational requirements.

Train and support junior team members on service standards.

Handle guest concerns and resolve issues promptly.

Ensure opening and closing checklists are completed.

Educational Qualification: 10+2 / Diploma / Degree in Hospitality or equivalent preferred.

For Waiter: Freshers and candidates with relevant hospitality experience can be considered.

For Captain: 2+ years of relevant restaurant/F&B; service experience preferred.
