Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Assistant Production Supervisor to support the day-to-day production activities at our factory.

This is a shop-floor role. The person should be comfortable working directly with tailors, helpers, checkers and other production workers and should understand how to get production completed on time, in the correct quantity and with the required quality.

The Assistant Production Supervisor will work under the Production Supervisor/Production Manager and will be expected to take ownership of the production lines and orders assigned to them.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise the day-to-day production of cotton, canvas, jute and other bags.
- Allocate work to tailors, helpers and other production workers.
- Ensure workers are present at their assigned operations and production starts on time.
- Understand daily production targets and monitor hourly and daily output against those targets.
- Identify slow operations, bottlenecks and production delays and take corrective action.
- Coordinate the movement of cut panels, accessories and other materials so that production does not stop due to material shortages.
- Ensure the correct fabric, thread, accessories, labels, printing and specifications are being used for each order.
- Ensure approved samples and production instructions are properly followed.
- Monitor stitching quality, measurements, workmanship and finishing during production, rather than waiting until the order is completed.
- Identify defects early and coordinate immediate correction and rework.
- Maintain accurate daily records of production, WIP, rejection and rework.
- Help balance production lines by shifting manpower or work between operations where required.




- Coordinate with cutting, printing, embroidery, QC, finishing, packing and stores.
- Ensure completed quantities are properly handed over to the next department.
- Assist the Production Supervisor in meeting production and shipment deadlines.
- Maintain discipline, cleanliness and proper working practices on the factory floor.
- Ensure machines, tools and workstations are used responsibly and report maintenance problems promptly.
- Help train and guide workers in the correct production methods where required.
- Immediately report significant production delays, quality problems, worker issues or material shortages to the Production Supervisor/Management.
- Carry out other production-related responsibilities reasonably assigned by management.

Candidate Requirements:

The candidate should have:

- Minimum 5 years of factory experience in garment manufacturing, bag manufacturing or a similar stitching-based manufacturing environment.
- Practical knowledge of industrial sewing and production processes.
- Experience supervising tailors/operators and helpers on a factory floor.
- Ability to understand samples, measurements and basic production specifications.
- Good understanding of production quality and common stitching defects.
- Ability to maintain basic production records and calculate production quantities.
- Ability to manage workers while maintaining discipline and productivity.
- Ability to work under pressure when production or shipment deadlines are tight.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Hindi and/or Bengali.




- Basic English reading ability is preferred.
- A disciplined, responsible and hands-on approach to work.

Candidates with experience in cotton, canvas or jute bag manufacturing will be given preference.

What We Expect

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of production rather than simply reporting problems.

If production is falling behind, the Assistant Production Supervisor should identify the problem early, understand the reason and work with the team to correct it.

The person should be able to maintain discipline on the factory floor while also developing a good working relationship with workers. The objective is straightforward: positive quality, proper productivity and orders completed on time.

Salary & Employment Terms

Salary: ₹18,000 per month.

The selected candidate will initially be appointed on a 12-month probation period.

During the probation period, the employee's performance will be evaluated based on:

- Quality and rejection levels
- Ability to identify and solve production problems
- Ownership and responsibility
- Ability to work effectively with other departments

Upon satisfactory completion of the probation period, the employee may be confirmed in the position in accordance with company policy.
