Job Description – EHS Officer

Designation: EHS Officer

Location: Bavla, Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Experience: 2–5 Years

Qualification: Diploma / Degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent

Key Responsibilities

Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures and safety standards across the plant.

Conduct regular Safety Inspections, Risk Assessments and Hazard Identification.

Ensure compliance with applicable Factories Act, Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions requirements and environmental regulations.

Monitor PPE usage and ensure employees follow required safety practices.

Conduct Toolbox Talks, Safety Training, Induction and Awareness Programs.

Investigate accidents, incidents and near-miss cases and prepare corrective/preventive action reports.

Maintain EHS records, registers, checklists, permits and compliance documentation.

Monitor Fire Safety, Emergency Preparedness and Evacuation Procedures.

Coordinate Fire Drills, Mock Drills and Emergency Response activities.

Ensure safe working practices for production, maintenance, electrical, welding, material handling and other plant activities.

Monitor hazardous waste,



waste disposal and environmental practices.

Coordinate with departments to close Safety Audit observations and corrective actions.

Support internal and external Safety, Environment and Compliance Audits.

Monitor contractor safety and ensure compliance with Contractor Safety Requirements.

Prepare regular EHS MIS and safety performance reports for management.

Promote a strong “Safety First – Zero Incident” culture throughout the organization.

Ideal candidate: Strong knowledge of industrial safety practices, proactive approach, valuable communication skills, and ability to independently manage day-to-day EHS activities in a manufacturing plant.
