FHIR Technical Lead / SME – Prior Authorization API

Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on FHIR Technical Lead / SME to lead the implementation
of a Prior Authorization FHIR API for a healthcare client.
Strong, proven hands-on experience in FHIR API implementation is mandatory.
Healthcare domain experience is important, but FHIR expertise is the primary selection
criterion.
Key Responsibilities
 Lead the design and implementation of FHIR APIs for the Prior Authorization
solution.
 Provide hands-on expertise in HL7 FHIR resources, profiles, extensions, REST
APIs, validation, and interoperability.
 Guide and mentor the existing development team on FHIR implementation and
best practices.
 Review FHIR API design, technical implementation, and code.
 Work with architects and client stakeholders to resolve FHIR-related technical
challenges.
 Support integration, testing, deployment, and production readiness.
 Provide post-implementation support, troubleshooting, and bug fixes.
Mandatory Skills




 Strong hands-on experience implementing HL7 FHIR APIs – MUST HAVE.
 Proven experience designing and implementing FHIR-based healthcare
interoperability solutions.
 Strong understanding of FHIR resources, profiles, extensions, references,
bundles, search, and validation.
 Experience working as a FHIR SME / Technical Lead / Architect.
 Ability to guide and mentor development teams on FHIR implementation.
 Strong REST API and healthcare interoperability knowledge.
Preferred Skills
 Experience with Prior Authorization workflows.
 Experience in Vision Care / Vision Perks.
 Experience in other healthcare domains such as Payer, Provider, Claims,
Eligibility, Benefits, or Clinical.
 Hands-on .NET / C# experience.
 Knowledge of SMART on FHIR / OAuth 2.0 is a plus.

Important: .NET experience is preferred, but strong FHIR implementation expertise is
more important than the technology stack.
