Job Title: Workshop / Fabrication Manager (Machine Building & Assembly)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Workshop / Fabrication Manager with 1520 years of hands-on experience in machine fabrication, machine building, assembly, and workshop operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in mechanical fabrication, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and the ability to lead workshop teams in manufacturing, assembling, testing, and commissioning industrial machinery. The role requires excellent planning, quality control, and production management skills to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the fabrication and machine-building workshop.
- Supervise fabrication, machining, welding, fitting, assembly, and testing activities.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor production to meet project timelines and customer requirements.
- Lead a team of fabricators, welders, fitters, machinists, technicians, and supervisors.
- Oversee the complete machine-building process from drawings to final assembly and commissioning.
- Interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly diagrams.
- Ensure correct installation and troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and quality teams for smooth project execution.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and productivity in the workshop.
- Monitor material usage, inventory, tools, and equipment to optimize operational efficiency.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and proper functioning of workshop machinery and equipment.
- Identify and resolve manufacturing, assembly, and technical issues.




- Implement process improvements to reduce costs and improve productivity.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate workshop personnel.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 1520 years of experience in machine fabrication, machine building, and workshop management.
- Proven experience in handling complete workshop operations.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, machining, fitting, and assembly.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Experience in production planning, quality control, and resource management.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Valuable communication and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in custom machine manufacturing or special-purpose machine (SPM) building.
- Knowledge of workshop safety standards and quality management systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Cost-conscious approach with a focus on productivity and continuous improvement.
