Minimum Qualification

- Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Welding Engineering

- Preparation of welding procedure and other related documents

- Knowledge of various welding processes (SMAW, SAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SASC, ESW, etc.)

- Awareness of various codes and standards

- Good understanding of welding basics (preheat/interpass/DHT/ISR/PWHT/weld defect/distortion control/welding consumable monitoring, etc.)

- Knowledge of pressure vessel and heat exchanger fabrication

- Knowledge of basic welding metallurgy of C-Mn, MnMoNi steel, stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, etc., and various types of heat treatment

- Perform root cause analysis for weld/base metal failure and suggest corrective actions accordingly

- Developing & implementing new welding procedures, techniques, or technology

- Shop surveillance for welding activities

- Should have valuable verbal and written communication skills
