Job Description – Civil Senior Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Civil Senior Engineer to manage and oversee end-to-end civil construction activities. The role involves project planning, site execution, quality control, cost management, contractor coordination, and timely project completion in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end civil construction activities, including project planning, execution, monitoring, and completion.
- Supervise day-to-day site operations and ensure construction activities are carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
- Prepare and review BOQs, quantity estimations, rate analysis, cost calculations, and project budgets.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and monitor progress against planned targets using Primavera P6, MS Project, or other planning tools.
- Track project progress, identify delays or potential risks, and implement appropriate corrective actions to ensure timely project completion.
- Establish and maintain effective QA/QC procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
- Review architectural, structural, and civil drawings, identify discrepancies, and coordinate with consultants for necessary clarifications and resolutions.
- Supervise and monitor RCC works, structural works, masonry, finishing, and other civil construction activities.
- Coordinate effectively with architects, structural consultants, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and internal teams for smooth project execution.
- Manage contractors and subcontractors to ensure productivity, workmanship, quality, safety,



and adherence to project schedules.
- Plan and monitor material requirements, manpower, equipment, and other resources to ensure uninterrupted construction activities.
- Monitor project costs, control wastage, and identify opportunities for cost optimization and resource efficiency.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and meetings to monitor work progress, quality, safety, and technical issues.
- Lead site teams and provide technical guidance, supervision, and engineering support to resolve construction-related challenges.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, site measurements, work records, and project documentation.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, approvals, and handover activities to ensure successful project completion and closeout.
- Identify construction risks and proactively implement mitigation measures to minimize delays, rework, and additional costs.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, RCC works, structural works, and finishing activities.
- Good understanding of BOQ preparation, quantity surveying, estimation, billing, and cost control.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 / MS Project and project planning techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and architectural drawings.
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC standards, construction specifications, and safety practices.
- Excellent contractor, consultant, vendor, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Solid leadership, team management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and deliver projects within time, cost, quality, and safety parameters.
