We are hiring an experienced Senior Functional Safety Engineer for our client in Chennai. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Automotive Functional Safety, ISO 26262, safety analysis, and automotive embedded systems development.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive Functional Safety activities throughout the automotive product development lifecycle as per ISO 26262.
- Develop and maintain Functional Safety Management Plans and processes for automotive E/E systems.
- Perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), define Safety Goals, and determine ASIL levels.
- Develop Functional Safety Concepts (FSC) and Technical Safety Concepts (TSC).
- Derive and allocate functional and technical safety requirements.
- Perform FMEA, DFMEA, FTA, FMEDA, and Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA).
- Collaborate with system, hardware, software, and testing teams.
- Support safety verification, validation, and safety assessments.
- Prepare and maintain ISO 26262 work products and safety cases.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ISO 26262 standards and safety requirements.

Mandatory Skills
- Strong experience in Automotive Functional Safety (FuSa).
- Hands-on experience with ISO 26262 Parts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9.




- Proven experience in HARA and ASIL determination.
- Experience in FSC, TSC, and safety requirement derivation.
- Strong knowledge of FTA, DFMEA, FMEA, FMEDA, and DFA.
- Experience developing ISO 26262 work products.
- Automotive Embedded Software and safety-critical ECU experience.
- Experience with Medini and knowledge of MagicDraw.

Valuable to Have
- SysML and MBSE knowledge.
- Functional Safety validation using hardware or virtual platforms.
- Experience in safety case development and safety assessments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Drive and support functional safety activities throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262. 2.Develop and maintain functional safety management plans and processes for automotive E/E systems.

3.Lead Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA) to identify safety goals and ASILs.

4.Define and develop Functional Safety Concepts (FSC) and Technical Safety Concepts (TSC).

5.Derive and allocate functional and technical safety requirements to system and software architectures.

6.Perform safety analyses such as FMEA, FTA, and FMEDA at various levels of abstraction.

7.Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (system, hardware, software, test) to implement and verify safety mechanisms.

8.Support safety verification and validation activities to ensure the achievement of safety goals and the sufficiency of risk-reducing measures.

9.Contribute to safety cases and safety assessments to demonstrate functional safety compliance.

Must have: Proven experience working with ISO26262 Part 2, 3 & 4 development.

Proven experience in performing HARA.

Proven experience in deriving safety requirements

Domain Knowledge: ISO 26262 Parts 2,3,4 and 9. & Tools: Magic Draw

Additional Skills: SysML knowledge and FMA expertise are value added

Knowledge on Functional Safety validations using HW or virtual will be an added advantage.
