Role & responsibilities

- Perform blood and other specimen collection from IPD, OPD, ICU, emergency and home collection patients.

- Follow proper patient identification and sample collection procedures.

- Handle venipuncture, capillary sampling and difficult blood collections safely.

- Ensure correct labeling, handling, transportation and storage of samples.

- Maintain proper documentation and sample collection records.

- Follow infection control, biomedical waste management and laboratory safety protocols.

- Coordinate with laboratory staff regarding sample requirements, rejected samples and recollection.

- Ensure timely and accurate sample collection as per laboratory requirements.

- Maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies.

- Provide skilled and courteous service to patients.

Preferred candidate profile

- 35 years of experience as a Phlebotomist in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory.

- Diploma/Certificate in Phlebotomy, DMLT or relevant qualification.

- Good knowledge of blood collection and specimen handling procedures.

- Knowledge of infection control and laboratory safety practices.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work in rotational shifts.
