Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a VMC Programmer – Cimatron, located in Tambaram. The role involves programming Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) using Cimatron software to produce precision mold bases and components according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. The VMC Programmer will create, optimize, and validate CNC programs, select appropriate tools and machining strategies, and coordinate with machinists to ensure efficient and accurate production.

Responsibilities include reviewing CAD/CAM data, performing tool path simulations, monitoring machining quality,



and making necessary adjustments to improve cycle time and surface finish. The role also requires collaboration with the production, quality, and design teams to resolve technical issues, maintain documentation, and support continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in Computer Science concepts relevant to CNC programming and CAM software usage.
- Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles to develop, modify, and troubleshoot tool paths and automation scripts.
- Experience or coursework in Software Development and Back-End Web Development is beneficial for integrating CAM workflows with internal systems.
- Hands-on experience with Cimatron or similar CAD/CAM tools for VMC programming, including 2D/3D tool path generation and simulation.
- Knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and mold base manufacturing standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work safely in a shop-floor environment.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, or a related discipline.
