Vashi Impact Group (VIG) is inviting applications from experienced Early Childhood Development (ECD) professionals in India and East Africa to join our expert network for upcoming research, evaluation and consulting assignments.

We are particularly interested in experts with experience in ECD research, programming, child assessment, early learning, school readiness and ECD programme evaluation.

? ??? ????????????????:

- Lead the design and justification of child assessment approaches for children aged 0–3, 3–6 and, where applicable, 5–6 years.
- Assess areas including child development, early learning, growth, health and school readiness.
- Design competency assessments and session observation tools for ECD facilitators, caregivers and childcare providers.
- Assess areas such as play-based learning, responsive interaction, inclusion, positive discipline, safeguarding, childcare, health and hygiene.
- Contribute to tools for assessing young/peer facilitators, learning environments and community structures.
- Adapt, translate, pilot and standardise assessment tools for local languages and contexts, including for children with disabilities.
- Train and supervise assessors and enumerators to administer child assessments ethically, consistently and in a child-friendly manner.
- Support analysis of child outcomes, disaggregated by age, sex, disability, location and programme exposure.
- Contribute to inception, pilot, draft and final reports, results frameworks and stakeholder validation.
- Ensure compliance with child safeguarding, PSEA, consent, assent and data protection requirements.

- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Development, Education, Social Sciences, Community Development,



Population Studies or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in ECD research, programming or evaluation.
- Demonstrated experience administering and adapting direct child assessments, including CREDI, IDELA, ECDI 2030 or equivalent tools.
- Experience assessing school readiness and early learning outcomes.
- Experience assessing ECD facilitator or caregiver competency, including session observation.
- Strong mixed-methods research and evaluation skills, including experience with baselines or evaluations and statistical software.
- Knowledge of the ECD and education landscape in India or East Africa, including inclusive education.
- Understanding of safeguarding, gender, disability and inclusion when working with children.
- Solid written and spoken English communication skills.

? Experience working with Anganwadi Centres, ICDS, frontline workers, caregivers or community-based ECD programmes.

? Familiarity with India’s ECD and early learning landscape, including national or state-level programmes and policies.

? Experience working in refugee and host-community settings.

? Experience with community-based, home-based or two-generation programming.

? Experience in parenting, caregiver wellbeing and household livelihoods programming.

? Familiarity with ECD programmes and systems in East Africa.

? Experience working with children with disabilities and inclusive ECD programmes.

? Experience with digital data collection platforms such as KoboToolbox or ODK.
