Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Head of Operations to lead the Unit / Verticals of BUs of Tata Auto Comp Systems Limited, based in Chakan, Pune. This individual will be responsible for fulfilment of requirements through effective Business Development, Program Delivery, ensuring long term sustained growth and profitability of the Unit.

The role holder leads and guides the organsiation in ensuring operational excellence across all functions for effective fulfilment of customer demand aligned with various standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in financial management (P&L; responsibility), business management, operations, and strategic development .

Qualification

Full-time Graduation / Post Graduation in Engineering. Candidates with additional Qualifications in Management would be preferred.

Experience:

Around 16 to 25 years in Auto Component or Green Energy Industries. Should have had P&L; responsibility in leading automotive component manufacturers / Green Energy Industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Growth & Profitability:

- Lead and manage the growth and profitability of the plant.
- Achieve the budgeted operational and financial targets, ensuring cost control, savings, and effective cash flow management.
- Full responsibility for the Profit & Loss (P&L;) of the plant, including direct and indirect cost management.

Strategic Leadership:

- Develop and implement long-term strategies for business excellence, operational improvements, and plant growth.
- Oversee and drive the management of plant operations, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Develop strategic business plans, including expansion projects, capacity enhancement, and infrastructure development.




- Ensure timely execution of capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, Industry 4.0 projects with a focus on ROI.

Business Development & Market Growth:

- Drive new business development opportunities. Strengthen relationships with existing customers while identifying new markets for growth.
- Oversee new product development and ensure the smooth introduction of new products into the market.
- Ensure timely delivery of products and services to meet customer expectations.

Financial & Operational Performance:

- Monitor financial performance, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and financial reporting requirements.
- Lead expansion projects, infrastructure development, and investments considering business needs and ROI.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and implement lean manufacturing principles across operations.

Cross-functional Management:

- Oversee all Plant functions, including Production, Supply Chain (Purchase, Stores, Logistics), Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Plant Maintenance, HR/Admin, and Finance.
- Act as a liaison between various functions within the organization to ensure effective support and smooth operations.
- Monitor and review the Plant Key Performance Indicators. Provide leadership and guide the teams to achieve the KPIs.

People Development & Leadership:

- Foster a culture of team-work, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and high performance.




- Play the role of coach to manage talent development, training, and succession planning to support long-term business needs.

Statutory Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:

- Ensure adherence to all relevant statutory and legal requirements, including labor laws, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
- Oversee the plant's compliance with all industry-specific certifications and standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Education: Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Engineering. Qualification in Finance / Business Management would be an advantage.
- Experience: Around 18 ~ 20 years of experience in manufacturing operations within the auto components or related industry, with a proven track record in leadership and management.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management capabilities with experience in managing diverse teams.
- Financial Acumen: Experience in P&L; management, cost control, cash flow management, and CAPEX planning.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of core production processes, quality systems, supply chain management, and plant maintenance.
- Business Development: Experience in business development, market expansion, and customer relationship management.
- Compliance: Strong understanding of statutory compliance, regulatory requirements, and quality standards in the manufacturing industry.
