Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Total Station Surveyor for our construction project at IIT Bhubaneswar. The candidate should have practical experience in operating total station surveying equipment, setting out construction layouts, taking measurements, and ensuring accurate survey work as per approved drawings.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate Total Station, Auto Level, and other surveying instruments for construction activities.
- Carry out setting out and layout marking for foundations, columns, beams, grids, and other structural elements.
- Establish and verify benchmarks, reference points, grid lines, and levels at the project site.
- Conduct topographical surveys, site measurements, and level surveys as required.
- Check coordinates, elevations, distances, and alignments as per approved drawings.
- Verify construction layouts and dimensions before and during execution.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Engineers, and the execution team to ensure accurate survey work.
- Prepare survey reports, measurement records, and as-built survey drawings/data.




- Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments and ensure proper handling of equipment.
- Identify and report discrepancies between site conditions and approved drawings to the concerned engineer.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma / relevant qualification in Surveying or Civil Engineering preferred.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in construction surveying.
- Practical knowledge of Total Station operations, coordinate systems, levels, and setting-out procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret civil and structural drawings.
- Knowledge of Auto Level and basic survey data processing.
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and site coordination skills.
- Candidates with experience in building construction projects will be preferred.
