Job Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end secondary distribution (T2)(Small Vehicle) transportation operations.

- Plan and monitor vehicle placement to ensure timely dispatches and deliveries.

- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and finalize transport vendors in bulk based on operational requirements.

- Negotiate freight rates and maintain transportation cost efficiency.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with transport vendors to ensure service availability and performance.

- Monitor transporter KPIs including on-time placement, transit time, vehicle utilization, detention, and delivery adherence.

- Coordinate with warehouse, operations, planning, and customer teams to ensure seamless dispatch execution.

- Resolve transportation issues such as vehicle shortages, delivery delays, route deviations, and escalations.

- Optimize routes, fleet utilization, and transportation costs without compromising service levels.

- Ensure transporter compliance with company SOPs, statutory regulations, and safety standards.

- Prepare and analyze transportation MIS reports, freight cost reports, vendor performance reports, and operational dashboards.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transportation efficiency and reduce logistics costs.





- Monitor market freight trends and recommend suitable transport partners and pricing strategies.

Required Skills

- Solid knowledge of Secondary Distribution (T2 Logistics).

- Expertise in transport vendor sourcing, onboarding, and management.

- Hands-on experience in freight rate negotiation and vendor finalization.

- Experience in vehicle placement planning and fleet coordination.

- Strong understanding of transportation planning and route optimization.

- Knowledge of FMCG logistics operations and distribution networks.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query preferred) and transportation/MIS reporting.

- Good communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple transportation activities simultaneously.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- 5+ years of experience in transportation operations within a 3PL logistics organization.

- Prior experience managing secondary distribution for FMCG clients.

- Proven track record in transport vendor development, freight negotiations, and vehicle placement.

- Experience handling large transporter networks across multiple locations.
