Role & responsibilities
- Design HPDC/LPDC die-casting tools, dies, inserts, slides, cores, and related components using CAD software such as Creo, CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks.
- Study 2D drawings, 3D models, customer specifications, and GD&T; requirements before starting tooling design.
- Conduct mold-flow/filling analysis where required to evaluate filling, air entrapment, porosity, solidification, and thermal behavior.
- Select suitable tool steels, die materials, standard components, and heat-treatment specifications.
- Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, BOMs, assembly drawings, and tool specifications.
- Ensure correct shrinkage allowance, machining allowance, draft angles, clearances, and tolerances.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, machining, tool-room, casting, quality, and production teams during tool development.
