Job Summary The Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Professional Fee (ProFee) and Critical Care coding team, ensuring accurate and compliant coding, productivity management, quality improvement, client satisfaction, and team development. The role requires strong expertise in CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS coding, Critical Care documentation requirements, and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

- Lead and manage a team of ProFee and Critical Care coders.
- Monitor daily coding productivity, accuracy, and turnaround time (TAT).
- Allocate work effectively and ensure timely completion of coding assignments.
- Ensure adherence to client-specific guidelines,



payer regulations, and industry standards.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for coding-related queries and operational concerns.

Coding & Compliance

- Review complex Critical Care and Evaluation & Management (E/M) cases.
- Ensure accurate assignment of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and modifier usage.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain coding quality and compliance standards.
- Stay updated on CMS, AMA, payer-specific, and regulatory guidelines.
- Support implementation of coding updates, process changes, and client requirements.

Quality & Performance Management

- Monitor individual and team quality scores.
- Analyze coding errors and implement corrective action plans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare and share productivity, quality, and utilization reports with management.

Team Development

- Mentor, coach, and train coders on coding guidelines and best practices.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and feedback sessions.
- Identify training needs and support professional development plans.
- Facilitate onboarding and training for new team members.

Client & Stakeholder Management

- Participate in client meetings and address coding-related concerns.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with Quality, Training, Operations, and Client Services teams to achieve business objectives.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- CPC, CCS, COC certification preferred.
- 5+ years of Medical Coding experience with solid exposure to ProFee/Crit care coding.
- Minimum 1-2 years of team handling or leadership experience.
