Position: Team Lead – Residential position (for Autism & Special Needs Program)

Location: Hosur (Tamil Nadu–Karnataka Border), approx. 40 km from Electronic City

Organization: The Together Community

Reporting To: Programme Manager

Employment Type: Full-time

Shifts: Day & Night (Rotational or Assigned)

Role Overview

We are seeking compassionate, responsible, and experienced Team Leads to work closely with adults with autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and other developmental challenges.

This is a hands-on leadership role involving supervision of daily routines, vocational activities, and caregiving support within a residential setting. The role requires empathy, patience, strong communication skills, and a practical understanding of the needs of special adults.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee daily living activities of residents, ensuring routines are followed with care and dignity

· Supervise and guide caregivers and house parents during assigned shifts





· Support and implement vocational and life-skills training programs

· Provide emotional and behavioural support tailored to individual resident needs

· Coordinate with therapists, healthcare professionals, and family members as required

· Maintain shift records, track resident progress, and report observations to management

· Ensure safety, hygiene, discipline, and overall wellbeing within residential spaces

· Handle emergency situations responsibly and in line with established protocols

· Assist in organizing recreational, cultural, and community activities

· Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful living environment

Requirements

· Educational Qualification: UG / PG in Social Work with Medical & Psychiatric specialisation

· Experience: Minimum 0–2 years of experience working with individuals with:

· Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

· Down Syndrome

· Intellectual Disabilities

· Other developmental challenges

· Preference: Prior experience in autism-focused centres, residential care homes, or special education environments

Language Skills:

· Good English and Hindi speaking and reading skills

· Tamil and/or Kannada is an added advantage

· Robust interpersonal skills, patience, and emotional maturity

· Ability to lead teams, manage schedules, and work in rotational shifts

· Willingness to stay on campus or commute daily based on shift allocation
