TA Responsibilities and Guidelines 1.

Around Faculty Sessions Session

Coordination & Alignment TAs are expected to ensure that their sessions are aligned with the topics, content, and flow covered in the corresponding faculty sessions. The Head TA should share the TA session schedule with all TAs and the Program Manager well in advance. TAs should attend their assigned faculty sessions as per the schedule shared by the Head TA to stay updated on course content, learner queries, and faculty instructions.

Any session-related changes, concerns, or conflicts should be communicated to the Head TA and Program Office well in advance.

Session Material

Session notes, reference materials, code, datasets, assessment details, or any other relevant resources should be collected from the faculty. The collected material should be shared with the GL team or uploaded directly to the learner portal within 24 hours of the session. Any external links, code repositories, datasets, or additional reading material used during the session should also be shared with learners during or after the session.

Session

Conduct 1. Please join the Zoom meeting 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to verify your audio, video, screen sharing, and other technical settings.

- Start and end the session as per the scheduled timings. Sessions may occasionally extend by 2030 minutes to accommodate discussions and Q&A.;
- Schedule dedicated Q&A; windows of 5–10 minutes after key topics to maintain the continuity of the lecture. Encourage learners to note down their questions and raise them during these intervals.
- Request learners to remain muted during concept explanations and unmute only when invited to ask questions, one at a time.

- For highly personalised or organisation-specific queries, request learners to save their questions for the end of the session, subject to time availability.
- Keep sessions interactive by engaging learners through questions, discussions, polls, or other relevant activities while maintaining the overall flow of the lecture.
- If you anticipate any delay or face technical difficulties while joining or conducting the session, inform the Program Office team immediately.
- For administrative or programme-related queries such as fees, schedules, evaluations, certificates, etc., direct learners to the Program Office team rather than addressing these during the session.
- Encourage learners to review any applicable pre-read material and maintain an open, respectful, and collaborative learning environment. 2.

Evaluations

Evaluations for quizzes, mid-term exams, and end-term exams should be completed within 7–10 days of the assessment. In case the evaluation is expected to be delayed, the Faculty and GL team should be informed well in advance. Marks and feedback should be uploaded accurately and clearly on the learner's SpeedGrader link.

Appropriate and constructive feedback should be provided wherever applicable. Before releasing the evaluation, TAs should ensure that marks and comments are correctly mapped to the respective learners.

- Tickets and Query Resolution Ticket Assignment All learner tickets should first be assigned to the Head TA. The Head TA can then assign the ticket to the relevant TA or stakeholder based on the nature of the query. If a TA receives a ticket that requires support from another stakeholder, it should be assigned/escalated to the appropriate person at the earliest. Resolution TAT Learner tickets and queries should ideally be resolved within 24–48 hours. If a query requires additional time for investigation or resolution, the ticket should not be left unanswered. A response should be added to the ticket acknowledging the query and providing an appropriate update. If you are unable to resolve a particular ticket, please assign/escalate it to the relevant stakeholder at the earliest rather than holding the ticket. TAs should ensure that tickets are actively followed up until the query is resolved.

Ticket Closure

Once the query has been resolved, add a clear closing remark summarising the resolution provided. Mark the ticket as Closed after confirming that the required action has been completed. Avoid closing tickets without providing a clear resolution or response to the learner. 4.

General Guidelines

Maintain timely and proactive communication with the Head TA, Faculty, and Program Office. Ensure that learner-facing communication is clear, qualified, and courteous. Escalate issues promptly rather than allowing them to remain unresolved. Maintain confidentiality of learner, faculty, and programme-related information at all times. Follow the timelines and processes communicated by the Program Office and Head TA.
