Role Overview: The Cloud/Devops SME serves as the authoritative subject matter expert for enterprise cloud infrastructure, CI/CD release engineering, container orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This strategic role guides multi-cloud environments, enforces cloud security and governance standards, drives site reliability practice

Key Responsibilities & Infrastructure Leadership

- Design, build, and optimize enterprise multi-cloud architectures across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and GCP utilizing well-architected cloud frameworks.
- Author modular, reusable, and production-tested Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates utilizing Terraform, OpenTofu, Bicep, and CloudFormation.
- Architect and manage production-grade Kubernetes clusters (EKS/AKS/GKE), defining ingress controllers, service meshes (Istio), and autoscaling rules.
- Design enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, and GitHub Actions, incorporating automated unit tests, SAST/DAST, and release gates.
- Implement comprehensive cloud observability, centralizing metrics, distributed tracing, and log aggregation via Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and ELK.
- Enforce strict cloud security policies, IAM least privilege access, network isolation (VNet/VPC peering,



Private Endpoints), and secret encryption.
- Direct FinOps practices, analyzing cloud cost allocation, sizing compute workloads, implementing auto-shutdowns, and optimizing cloud expenditures.

Architectural Governance & Operational Resilience
- Formulate organizational standards for disaster recovery (DR), automated cross-region failover, backup verification, and business continuity.
- Oversee vulnerability management, container scanning (Trivy/Snyk), compliance auditing, and adherence to CIS benchmarks and SOC2 standards.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure degradation, network latency, DNS anomalies, and container crashes across production clusters.

Stakeholder Enablement & Team Collaboration
- Advise engineering leads and architects on cloud native design patterns, serverless paradigms, distributed messaging, and decoupled services.
- Mentor development teams in contemporary GitOps delivery methodologies (ArgoCD/Flux), cloud engineering principles, and shift-left testing.
- Partner with IT security, compliance, and governance bodies to ensure consistent cloud landing zone policies and automated guardrails.
