Avya Technology Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Sr. Software Engineer with strong expertise in PHP, WordPress, Laravel, Node.js, and MySQL, along with practical experience using AI-powered coding assistants to improve software development productivity and code quality.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in backend development, web application development, database optimization, and API integration. Robust hands-on knowledge of MySQL Views, Triggers, Stored Procedures, and complex SQL queries is essential.

We are seeking a technically strong professional who can independently handle complex development tasks, troubleshoot application issues, optimize performance, and effectively leverage AI-assisted development tools while maintaining high standards of code quality, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, maintain, and optimize web applications using PHP, Laravel, WordPress, and Node.js.
- Develop custom WordPress themes, plugins, features, and third-party integrations.
- Build and maintain secure, scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
- Design and optimize MySQL databases, including complex queries, joins, indexes, Views, Triggers, and Stored Procedures.
- Identify and resolve application bugs, database issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Write clean, reusable, secure, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
- Use AI coding assistants for code generation, debugging, refactoring, testing, and documentation.
- Review and validate AI-generated code to ensure accuracy, security, performance, and reliability.
- Integrate third-party APIs and external services as required.




- Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical discussions and application improvements.
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time.
- Take ownership of development tasks, troubleshooting, deployment support, and ongoing application maintenance.

Required Skills

- Experience: 8+ years of overall software development experience.
- PHP: Strong expertise in Core PHP and object-oriented programming.
- Laravel: Hands-on experience with Laravel, MVC architecture, middleware, routing, and API development.
- WordPress: Experience in custom theme development, plugin development, hooks, filters, and WordPress APIs.
- Node.js: Practical experience in backend development and API integration.
- MySQL: Advanced knowledge of SQL queries, joins, indexes, Views, Triggers, Stored Procedures, and query optimization.
- AI-Assisted Coding: Practical experience using GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, ChatGPT, Claude Code, or similar AI coding assistants.
- API Development: Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Version Control: Proficiency in Git and GitHub.
- Debugging & Optimization: Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and code optimization skills.
- Security: Understanding of secure coding practices and application security.

Good to Have

- Experience with Linux servers, deployment processes, and basic DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of caching, application performance monitoring, and scalable architecture.
- Familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience maintaining and optimizing existing web applications.
- Ability to guide junior developers and contribute to technical decisions.
