Role & responsibilities

- Lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control function for paper manufacturing operations.

- Establish, implement, and continuously improve quality management systems, standards, and procedures.

- Monitor and improve key paper-quality parameters such as GSM, moisture, thickness, strength, brightness, smoothness, formation, sizing, and printability.

- Drive root-cause analysis, CAPA, 8D, RCA, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Manage customer complaints, investigate quality issues, and ensure timely corrective/preventive actions.

- Coordinate with Production, R&D;, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Sales, and Customer Service to resolve quality issues.

- Ensure compliance with applicable ISO and industry standards, internal specifications, customer requirements, and statutory requirements.

- Lead internal, external, customer, and certification audits.

- Develop and monitor quality KPIs, dashboards, trends, and improvement plans.

- Strengthen laboratory systems, testing methods, calibration, sampling plans, and inspection procedures.

- Lead and develop the Quality team through training, coaching, and performance management.

- Identify opportunities to reduce rejection, customer complaints, process variation,



waste, and quality-related costs.

- Promote a strong quality culture and continuous-improvement mindset across the plant.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.E./B.Tech in Chemical, Mechanical, Pulp & Paper, or related discipline; M.Tech/MBA/PG qualification in Quality is an advantage.

- Experience: Typically 10 to15 years in Quality/QA/QC within the paper, pulp & paper, packaging paper, specialty paper, or related process industry.

- Strong knowledge of paper manufacturing processes and quality testing.

- Experience with ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems, RCA, CAPA, SPC, FMEA, 8D, and Lean/Six Sigma.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.

- Experience working in a large manufacturing organization/MNC preferred.

- Positive communication skills with the ability to interact with customers, auditors, plant leadership, and cross-functional teams.
