Role & responsibilities

A. Colour Stone Assorting & Selection

- Assort colour stones as per size, shape, colour, quality and jewellery requirement.
- Select suitable stones according to CAD/design and production requirements.
- Match stones accurately with required specifications.
- Separate stones based on quality, size and usability.
- Ensure proper handling to avoid damage, mixing or loss.

B. Colour Stone Grading & Quality

- Check colour, clarity, cut, shape, size and overall appearance of stones.
- Grade stones according to company quality standards.
- Identify damaged, cracked, chipped, mismatched or low-quality stones.
- Maintain consistency in grading and selection.
- Ensure stones meet the required standard before issuing to production.

C. Colour Stone Purchasing

- Identify and coordinate with reliable colour stone suppliers.
- Source stones according to required quality, size, colour and budget.
- Compare supplier quotations and negotiate prices.
- Check samples before final purchase.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery.
- Develop and maintain a reliable supplier network.

D. Stock & Inventory Management

- Maintain accurate records of colour stone stock.
- Monitor inward, outward, issue,



return and balance stock.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification.
- Maintain proper segregation of stones by type, size, colour and quality.
- Immediately report stock shortages, discrepancies or excess stock.

E. Production Coordination

- Coordinate with the Production, CAD, Merchandising and Purchase teams for stone requirements.
- Ensure required stones are available as per production schedules.
- Issue stones to production against approved requirements.
- Coordinate for replacement of rejected or unavailable stones.
- Support production in resolving colour stone-related issues.

Preferred candidate profile

- Good knowledge of colour stones and jewellery requirements.
- Solid understanding of stone assorting and grading.
- Good colour, size and quality identification ability.
- Knowledge of colour stone purchasing and market rates.
- Good negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good Excel and basic inventory management skills.
- Valuable communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under production deadlines.
